EVP Devise
Not only does this great devise have amazing results and is very simple to use the dark the VN120PC (or later models) also plugs into your PC/Laptop via the USB so you can transfer the audio files for closer examination, it comes with software of its own but we prefer to use Wave pad software to really drill down as to what really lies in the audio. I would recommend that the VN120PC when used in an investigation is placed on a table or wall away from wind or drafts to eliminates noise caused by holding it or air flow across the microphone and even better the VN120PC has external microphone and headphone sockets for really clean results and live real time audio monitoring.

Hints and Tips
Use an external microphone when ever possible, if you don't have an external microphone then ensure not to hold the unit in your hand while recording as the slightest movement will contaminate the recording.
Always book mark the recording with date, time location etc using audio (simply say it at the beginning of your recording) as this will save you time later and makes your evidence more credible.
Always start your investigation with clean memorise this way you cant contaminate your findings or loose valuable time being forced to delete it.
Ensure your power cells are new paranormal activity simply loves to turn these devices off render them unusable or drain the power from them really frustrating if your not certain how old the batteries are.
Use headphones that are over ear and comfortable to listen out for real time monitoring this way your ears will not become irritated oh and remember keep the out put volume to a comfortable level.
Use good software to study the results something that displays a wave form is useful for identifying where points of interest's are
Never manipulate your recordings if you have to start this process you are loosing your credible evidence.
Ensure everybody is perfectly still during you recordings due to the compression rates on these devices foot shuffles will sound very different on the recording than they did at the actual time.
