About me:

GRIM

adj., grim·mer, grim·mest.

Unrelenting; rigid.
Uninviting or unnerving in aspect; forbidding: "undoubtedly the grimmest part of him was his iron claw" (J.M. Barrie).
Ghastly; sinister: "He made a grim jest at the horrifying nature of his wound" (Reginald Pound).
Dismal; gloomy: a grim, rainy day.
Ferocious; savage: the grim advance of the pillaging army.

That’s what the dictionary says. I can be unrelenting, and am enthusiastic and passionate about what I do. I’ve been interested in the paranormal from a very early age, growing up a stone’s throw from Pluckley in Kent. I left my native Kent behind, and am now resident in Sussex; since joining the PIGS I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people investigating a shared passion, and having a good laugh doing so. My main passion is history, and I enjoy getting stuck into a decent bit of historical research. Delving into the past for that missing piece of the puzzle is what it’s all about!

As for ‘rigid’… ding dong!!!

Mission:

I would describe myself as an open-minded sceptic, and will try to question as much as possible, and debunk first before declaring ‘OMG it’s a ghost’, before running down a long corridor in true Scooby Doo style. My missions are multi-faceted- firstly, to learn as much as possible, and develop what I already know, secondly to capture some irrefutable proof of the existence of ghosts, and thirdly to have the time of my life doing the first two! In the last couple of years, I have had some of the most amazing personal experiences, from having stones thrown at me, being physically attacked by an unseen force and being poked in the chest to seeing 5 full bodied apparitions in the last 2 years. I want more of that!

Why:

Why not? I do what I do not because I hope it will get me on telly, or for any other reason other than I love what I do. I’ve always had a fascination in what we are all about, and for me, almost nothing beats it- I’ve had the privilege of coming into contact with some of the most amazing people I have ever met, and some of them have even been alive. I want to push my knowledge and understanding of the subject to its absolute limit, and beyond. After 4 nights in Batterie Mirus, I still want to go back for more- I must be mad!

(web writers comment: he is)

Qualities:

Patience, high tolerance/boredom threshold, enthusiasm, passable understanding of grammar- I can use a semicolon correctly (see above), can use a soldering iron, inquisitive nature, lateral thinking and problem solving, photographic eye, good people skills, can put up with RED (web writers comment: err hang on a minute !!) after an all night investigation, great sense of humour, and an open mind. Did you notice the Oxford Comma? (no)

Special interests:

Personally, my main areas of interest within investigations are Photography and EVP/ITC. For me, the Holy Grail would be to capture a paranormal image that contains more than just dust, and nothing gets me more excited than hearing a question answered on analysis (web writers comment: and of course bacon). Outside of this, just ask me!

Web writers comment: you have to forgive Matt for he is the special one.
