Mists / Vapour

This is another area that is widely desputed. Breath, smoke, mist and fog, can all produce strange, paranormal looking photos. Looking at these types of pictures can be similar to cloud gazing. Look long and hard enough at it and your imagination will start to make pictures out of a collection of random shapes.

The vapour stage of manifestation, also known as ectoplasm, is generally considered to be the second stage of an apparition. From orb stage, a spirit will then form into what is known as a free formed vapour. This appears like a mist, is usually visible to the naked eye (although not always), and may occasionally have a obvious form (such as a human shape).
