Here is an explanation about some of the equipment the P.I.G.S use on an investigation.

USB 2 Data Logger
This data logger measures and stores up to 16,382 relative humidity and 16,382 temperature readings over 0 to 100%RH and -35 to +80°C (-31 to +176°F) measurement ranges. The user can easily set up the logging rate and start time, and download the stored data by plugging the module straight into a PCs USB port and running the purpose designed software under Windows 98, 2000 or XP.

   Hints and Tips

It will always support your evidence if you can show readings that are abnormal to natural surroundings, other equipment simply isn't practicable to use for long periods of time.  These can be places where they cant be seen by the light finger they well record the data for long periods of time and will give trends, time lines, dates, etc.

always remember to place these at  least a week before your investigation to gather surrounding ambience data.

While your not using them on investigations they can be used in your green house to discover why your tomatoes are the way they are.

Point to consider though...... they wont work with a Mac !!! so you will have to settle that you will have to use an inferior computer to recover the data from them.
