About the PIGS 2006 - 2013
A brief history
The P.I.G.S. (Paranormal Investigation Group Sussex) was formed in 2006, after a conversation between Johan Paul and Tim, where they discovered that they had a common interest in the paranormal. All three of them have been police officers at one time or another, and between them they have served over 30 years in the force - hence the name P.I.G.S! They decided that using the skills they had learned in the police, they would become paranormal investigators.
The P.I.G.S. enlisted the help two key researchers Amy and Lauren after a trial group the P.I.G.G.S. Amy has excellent organisational skills, Lauren excels in investigating possible leads with members of the public.
In April 2008 the P.I.G.S put an opportunity of becoming a P.I.G.S investigator to its 170 Facebook page followers, we had an enormous and positive response to this and as such we grew our team and spent the rest of 2008 training our new investigators: Matt Laker, Lib Kendrick, and Tori Hewett.
As the ambitions of the P.I.G.S has grown, so has the number of people in the team. Each colleague has specific tasks or roles to perform. This enables us as a group to cover each location with a detailed case file and a thorough investigation.
We have grown our Facebook followers to 800 and our twitter followers to over 700 we have over 200 friends on our Haunted Network page. We have been hosting haunted challenge nights for the charity Anthony Nolan which have raised just over £70,000 in 2008/11 BUT the Anthony Nolan events ended with a bumper night of return guests to Mirus in Guernsey.
We are also proud to have recruited the services of a well respected paranormal investigator throughout the industry, Mr. Kevin Ling who has worked with all the big paranormal companies and many famous people in this field. Kevin a long term friend of the PIGS and Anthony Nolan joins us late 2011 as we look to develop our own foundations in the paranormal events field.
Through 2012 the P.I.G.S ( Paranormal Investigation Group Sussex ) drew plans on what the future looks like and started work on various operations which are private investigations that span over a long period of time to gather as much information on the phenomena as possible. We've also recruited two specialist people to the team Jo Fellows who specialises in event management and has worked in specialised events for a number of years along with Tim Stevens a paranormal Investigator who has worked in this field for a number of years and has headed his own shows on Para Rock TV and One Man and a Ghost.
As we move into 2013 we have a number of changes to make, we have changed our name from the Paranormal Investigation Group Sussex to the Paranormal Intelligence Gathering Service, this was done as most of our work is outside of Sussex our home county and because it better fits our operation today. Tim Brown becomes the first full time PIGS operative he will spend its days simply doing PIGS work in an effort to further reshape the organisation to study what we believe is important in the paranormal field.
Who knows what the future holds but as soon as we go through it we will post it here :-)
