Bisham Abbey Fright Night
Date: Friday 13 November 2009 8pm to 4am
Location: Berkshire
Are you prepared to be spooked? The Anthony Nolan Trust is pleased to offer you an event with a difference.
Dare you spend the night in Bisham Abbey? This is your chance to experience the most haunted building in Berkshire. Bisham Abbey was built around 1260 as a community house for the Knight Templars. The building is said to be cursed by the Abbot of Bisham, John Cordery. Various hauntings have been recorded including sightings of the ghost of Lady Elizabeth Hoby, who brought about the death of her young son. Visitors claim to have seen lights burning in the tower room, doors opening of their own accord, unseen hands pulling at bedclothes and numerous sightings of Lady Hoby herself. When not in visible form, her heart-rending moans can be heard in a remote room.
Your challenge is to spend the night in this haunted building. The experience includes a tour of the location, use of ghost hunting equipment and an overnight investigation. You will be joined by psychic medium Bryan Boyle, one of Scotland’s finest mediums, and experienced paranormal investigators The Paranormal Investigation Group of Sussex (P.I.G.S) to try and encounter paranormal activity at Bisham Abbey.
The entry fee covers the cost of staging the event. This ensures that all sponsorship raised supports our lifesaving work.
