Equipment

Here is an explanation about some of the equipment the P.I.G.S use on an investigation.

Digital Audio Mixing Desk

Not something you really need unless you are trying to record multiple Audio sourses at once to a multi track recorder.

We use the Yamaha 01V as it can alow the independant monitoring of sixteen differant locations at once,  so in basic terma you can mic up a very large house or hotel and monitoe it all from one place, although remember hotel guests may not appreciate you monitoring their room as the noises may not be the woo hoo of a ghost.

awesom piece of kit and totaly flexable.

   Hints and Tips

Dont spend over a thousand pounds on this piece of kit if you are simply going to use it for investigtions, this unit is a proffesional digital audio mixing desk found normaly in recording studios,

if how ever like us you have one kicking around the bottom of the wardrobe then get it out dust it off and go buy your self some radio mic's,  and your away

One thing though use flat EQ settings NEVER influance the sound from mic's to the tape whilst  on an investigation Never Never Never .

Record each Mic on an indipendant track on you recorder, so you have 16 inputs use a sixteen track digital recorder simple as that,

Never gate the sound sourse Never boost, pan, EQ, affect, compress, anything i know its the second time ive said that but it is so important,

remember to fully calibrate it by holding the enter button down while you press the power button this will ensure each of your channals is as responsive and ballanced as the next.
