Iron Duke - Conclusion
From our findings on the night, we have to conclude that there is definitely paranormal activity at The Iron Duke. We had unexplained noises, poltergeist activity and some very odd video footage.
From the anecdotal stories that we gathered, activity was recorded in a few of the locations. This leads us to believe that we were experiencing the same spirit that had affected other people. These are our conclusions of the stories:
Presence of a ginger cat in the back room: No evidence
Although Group 2 did sense a cat, it was upstairs and was not ginger.
Figure of a boy on the back stairs: No evidence
This was not picked up on by anyone on the night or during Pre Investigation.
Unexplained cold spots near the piano: Little evidence
The medium did report that she sensed the presence of an old man around this area. This could also possibly be related to the story of someone feeling a hand on their shoulder while stood at the bar. However on the night no activity was witnessed or temperature
changes measured.
Presence in the ladies toilets: Some evidence
Group 1 experienced unexplained noises captured on EVP.
Various presences in the bedrooms: Some evidence
The medium picked up several spirits in the bedrooms. Group 2 saw unexplained curtain movement felt the presence of a lady. Group 1 saw a figure of an old man in the hallway. Without more specific information, it is difficult to confirm or deny the identity of these spirits.
Foreboding presence in the cellar: Good Evidence
Along with stories told by various members of staff, both past and present, the medium also confirmed a presence of a large, intimidating man. On the night there was unexplained noises: knocks on the barrels, scratching and bangs on the ceiling. Also there was poltergeist activity and a spirit that came through during glass moving who claimed to be the spirit in the cellar (although this is yet to be confirmed)
