   Awarded

P.I.G.G.S member of the month for massive contribution to the P.I.G.S sister group in February 2007 Lauren now works full time on P.I.G.S projects.

About me:
I’m the mother of a wonderful little girl who is four going on fourteen! So I spend most of my time looking after her. I enjoy nights out on the town and I have even been known to indulge in the odd karaoke session!

Mission:
To ensure that the highest level possible of public research is carried out in an organised and professional way. To present these findings in a given time frame so they can be included into the case file.

Why:
I first came across this group when I was asked if I wanted to go ‘Ghost Hunting’ In Binstead Woods with some friends. The P.I.G.S had asked for lots of volunteers to test how they would run a large investigation. I had a great time and found that, even though I was scared (very scared!), I was intrigued by all the strange happenings and thought that this was something I would really like to do again. The P.I.G.S were very professional and experienced but they still kept the investigation fun, something that I think is really important. I was then invited to help out with some public research for an investigation and have been a member ever since.

The P.I.G.S are so different from other paranormal groups; they rely on evidence to back up their findings, not just orb photos! I’ve found they are honest, hardworking, dedicated but thoroughly entertaining and I am very proud to be part of the team.

Qualities:
Though not the most outspoken of the group, I am very much a ‘people person’ and I’m skilled at making people talk to me and feel at ease. This serves me well during our public research. I also tend to think about the small details and because of that, I come into ideas at completely different angles from the other members which helps with ideas and planning. I’m also very interested in local history and how that can tie in with our investigations. Though my main strength would probably be talking!

What the role involves:
My role within P.I.G.S involves organising, planning and co-ordinating any public research. The first task is to collect from the internet any anecdotal stories of hauntings to put into our case file. At this stage I will also contact any authors or public groups that may have more information to give us on our location. Next I will decide if Stage 2 public research is necessary or possible and if so, I will organise where and when we will conduct it. This means looking at the location we've chosen and deciding on the best approach for Stage 2. Once these tasks have been completed, I will send my findings to the Pre Investigation
Co-Ordinator to put into the case file.

On an investigation evening, I am responsible for leading a group around the given location and making sure my group is comfortable and enjoying themselves. I also write
the script and present some of the introduction for the DVD of the investigation.

Special interests:
Reading, theatre, karaoke and catching up on gossip on the internet!
